Part 3: Better Marketing. Less Hustle.

I’m popping in to share the last in the three-part series on marketing with less stress and more impact. So far, we’ve explored how to truly know your ideal client and how to craft messages that connect with them. (Check out my last blog if you need a refresh!)

Last but definitely not least is creating consistency – showing up where your ideal clients are and telling them what they need to hear…over and over and over. When we think about consistency there are two aspects of it that go hand in hand: cadence and content.

It’s so important to show up regularly and I help my clients do just that all day long. I’ll be honest though, keeping a steady cadence for myself can be tough now and then. As a high functioning introvert, talking about my company makes me want to crawl into my shell. It’s not a matter of finding the time to put myself out there. But sometimes I wonder if I’m being annoying, hence the “Are you STILL talking??” title. If you have a similar struggle, I have a reframe for you. Ask yourself, “What’s so annoying about helping people solve their problems?” After all, that’s what you’re doing. Your client is stuck and you have just what they need to move forward! When you look at being consistent through the lens of offering a real solution, it’s a lot easier to keep a regular pace.

Developing and deploying aligned messaging is the other key aspect of consistency, but that doesn’t mean saying the same thing every single time. You know what your clients’ pain points are and there are a lot of ways to talk about those…
Share how your business has helped people just like them.
Offer a little laugh so they feel like you’re in it with them.
Tell them why you do what you do.
When client empathy is the North Star for your messaging, it creates guardrails that make crafting authentic, consistent content so much easier.
Real connections. Less effort. On repeat.

Here’s another truth about consistency. Not everyone will see every single message you put out in the world. You might look at your content schedule and think you’re making a whole lot of noise but remember that your messages have to get through a whole lot of filters. Algorithms might not perform the way you want them to. Your witty email might wind up in a spam file. Human nature is another big factor, as a wise friend pointed out to me. Your intended recipient may be fatigued by multiple sales messages by the time yours comes along, or maybe they’re dealing with some bad news, or maybe they just need a snack. My point is, what seems to you like a flood of information going out will likely feel more like a sprinkle to your people.

I’ve shared this anonymous quote with you before but I’m going to do it again because it’s so spot on: “Consistency looks like nothing is happening until everything changes.” Keep doing what you’re doing! Consistency builds familiarity, which builds trust, which builds loyalty. Your customers know what to expect because you’re delivering aligned messaging with a steady cadence.
When you’re consistent it tells people you take your business seriously. And if you do, so will they.
