The 15-Minute Marketing Check-In

It’s that point in the summer where the goal is to get out there and squeeze as much fun as possible out of every sunny day. We’re also just beyond the halfway point of the year; the perfect time to briefly reflect on where you are with your marketing, course correct if needed and move ahead with a clear plan.

To help you gauge and learn from your progress I dropped a few focused questions below. Fifteen minutes is all you need, so grab an icy drink, stroll the farmers market, hop on your paddleboard…whatever gives your mind the space and freedom to ponder these prompts:

  1. What’s been your biggest marketing win so far this year, and what made it successful?
Kick off your review by taking a minute to celebrate what’s working! Then, take it a step further and think about ways you can replicate or build on that success to create even greater wins. Following a proven blueprint instead of inventing something new can deliver better results with less effort.
  2. How consistently are you showing up?
Marketing consistently can feel hard, but building visibility whether business is slow or crazy is such a valuable practice. Here’s the simple, effective “training plan” I use with clients who struggle on this front: Create a cadence that feels doable right now. As soon as it starts to feel easy, step it up. Repeat. Repeat again.
This builds your consistency muscle and pretty soon showing up on the regular will feel like a reflex.
  3. If tomorrow was the last day of the year, what would you wish you had started today?
This is my favorite question because it looks ahead instead of behind. Make a mental list of the marketing projects you’ve been putting off because they feel too big, you’re too busy, or you just don’t know where to start. Now, think about the opportunities those projects will bring forward once you check them off your list. I bet you’ll realize the upside is a lot bigger than your excuses.

That’s it! A mid-year review doesn’t have to be intense to be impactful. The small bit of time you invest now will shine a light on what you can release and where you should focus your energy for the coming months. Your future self – and your business – will thank you.
